History
Way Group Europe is a group of software specialist companies. The first company, Jayway, was founded in 2000 by a handful of enthusiasts with a burning desire to focus on Java technology. Times were tough in the recession that followed, but the dedication and specialization proved to be key success factors and Jayway quickly got recognized for their competence. A very special culture was created, and since then Jayway has been the role model for the companies that were to follow.
In 2003, Dotway was formed, specializing in .NET technology. This was the starting point of the group as such. Way Group was formed with the objective of becoming the thought-leader within software engineering in the markets where we have presence. During the next few years, Testway, Leadway and Realway were formed which basically made the group "feature complete" in terms of software engineering- and leadership skills.
Sharing of knowledge comes natural to us
It is obviously an integral part of the consultants job description, and we also strongly believe that the software world should work together in order to improve quality, productivity and innovation within the business we all love. All of our companies are very active in their respective communities; both contributing to local events and providing regular free-of-charge breakfast seminars presenting new technologies and methods.
Since there was an abscence of a high-quality developer-oriented conference in Sweden, we took this a large step further and 2005 saw us forming Öredev. This annual developer's conference since then has grown into a fullblown international conference with a full week of seminars and workshops in numerous parallell tracks. The speaker's list includes an impressive lineup of world-leading authors, researchers and practitioners.
Way Group currently comprises 160 consultants. Headquarters are located in Malmö, with branch offices in Copenhagen, Stockholm, Helsingborg, Halmstad, Kuala Lumpur, Nice and Beijing. The group is privately owned by the founders and staff. All employees have equity.
